Cary Visual Art Unveils New Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit
July 19th, 2014
One of the most mentioned factors when speaking with companies about why they relocate to our area is the wonderful cultural offerings available in just about every town and city in the Triangle. Museums, live music venues, art galleries, street festivals, dance and theatre just to name a few. One of the true gems of the area is the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit in Downtown Cary put on by the Cary Visual Arts organization. Each year the CVA sponsors a juried exhibition by nationally know sculptors that display their work for one year on Academy Street in Downtown Cary.
This years exhibit was judged by Renee Piechocki. The MPT had a chance to sit down with her for lunch on Friday at Serendipity and learned what a dynamic, warm, and truly arts passionate person she is. The best in show was awarded to Eric Troffkin for his piece Windblown. You will see a very short video of the installation process below but it does not do the piece justice. I encourage you to get out and see it along with all the other pieces along Academy Street. Public Art is a true treasure and enriches all our lives and Cary is very committed to that.
