Downtown Cary Growing Pains!
April 12th, 2016
Change is never easy but change is inevitable. An old friend once told me that there is only one true constant and that is change. I believe she hit the nail on the head. In my 36 years of living in Raleigh, Wendell, and Cary I have certainly seen, first hand, tremendous change. From a sleepy Southern Town of 150 thousand people Raleigh has grown into a diverse metropolitan are of over 2 million. One of the biggest changes has occurred in neighboring Cary where the population has not only multiplied over 5 times but the make up of the Town has also changed dramatically. We are fortunate in Cary to have people from all over the world working, living, and playing together.
While we have enjoyed great growth we have been missing a vibrant downtown. That is changing too. With the recent addition of The Mayton Inn, Pharmacy, Brew at The Cary Theatre, and Bond Brothers Brewery just to name a few, it is easy to see that Downtown Cary is becoming a very different place. Have dinner at Crosstown Pub and Grill and then take in a show at The Cary Art Center or The Cary Theater. Stay the night at The Mayton Inn and enjoy a delicious breakfast the next day. This is just a sampling of what is to come. Soon we will have an outdoor performance venue in our brand new downtown park next door to the new Wake County Regional Library with a brand new parking deck. The Downtown Cary Streetscape Project will enhance your visit with wide, easily accessible sidewalks, lots of art work, and a large water feature at the corner of Academy and Dry. With all that is happening it is easy to see why demand for residential property has skyrocketed in this area. Give The Mission Possible Team a call if you want in on the action and remember “keep your hands and arms inside the car at all times” cause it’s gonna be a wild ride!
