shark week imageEvery week, we’ll have someone ask us how the market is doing these days. A recent article in the News & Observer revealed that Triangle home sales have inched up just one percent this July, as compared to the same period last year.

With Shark Week upon us, we can’t help but view this recent home buying market data in terms of the feeding frenzy viewers can tune into all week long on the Discovery Channel. While it’s true that home sales in Raleigh, Cary, Durham and the surrounding areas aren’t skyrocketing, that doesn’t mean there aren’t eager home buyers ready to strike when the perfect home comes available — the problem is that there aren’t enough fish in the sea.

Despite the fact that inventory is increasing, especially in new home construction, there is still very little out there available to buy.
