You’ve Come a Long Way, Wendell
September 3rd, 2015
Recently our office had a terrific time touring Wendell’s new development, Wendell Falls, recently. Wendell Falls is just beyond Knightdale and such a quick trip from Raleigh with the 264 bypass. I think we were all stunned by the enormous and modern community center that greeted us as we meandered through the development’s entrance, not to mention the “tobacco barn” for the farmers market and concerts. And, more surprises were in store!
Newland Communities purchased Wendell Falls last year as it had fallen into bankruptcy with previous developers. The “grand opening” was in May of this year and already there are many models to tour and spec homes for sale. Seven builders including Homes by Dickerson, Garman Homes, Dan Ryan Builders, Lennar and MI Homes have GORGEOUS model homes for you to peruse. Homes by Dickerson has twenty plans available and those plans can be tweaked to your preferences. Garman Homes always has such clever and alluring details such as multiple porches and barnwood finishes.
Prices range from $180k to $400k. There are ranch homes and two-stories. Front load garages, and rear alley load garages. HOA fees are very low at $95 to $100/month.
The homes are alluring but I think the kids and I would be spending time walking the nature trails and playing at the pool. There will be ten miles of sidewalks ad nature trails! The pool is already built and is so inviting with multiple water features and of course a great big slide. There may be tennis courts in the future.
Looking over the pool is the Community Center which is the hub of the community. Grounds Café operates in the center and serves delicious pastries, sandwiches, coffees, beer and wine. Happy hour is every Friday night. Sunrise yoga is starting up on Wednesdays – $10 for yoga and coffee – that cannot be beat. A run club is starting up as well.
Look for more amazing amenities and surprises as the rest of the 3000 homes are built. For convenient living there will be commercial development as well – up to 2 million square feet – including a hospital, gas stations, grocery stores, a movie theater, a hotel and more. And nearby you’ve got Downtown Wendell which is having a building boom with a sweet potato vodka distillery and a tap room coming soon.
The Mission Possible Team would love to give you a tour of Wendell Falls and treat you to coffee at Grounds. Drop us a line. And, if you want to play golf with Tim, you’ll find him at Wendell Country Club on Wednesday mornings…oops, don’t tell him I told you.
